DESCRIPTION

You know when you strum a chord sometimes, and it just sounds ‘wrong’ somehow? It could just be that your guitar is out of tune!

Being able to tune your guitar is a skill that every guitarist has to have. Playing a guitar that is out of tune is not a good experience for the listener or the person playing.

But how do you tune a guitar? There are a few ways to do this, ranging from using your ear to judge the pitch of the string, to using all the different technology available to help out with this task.

In this video I show you how to tune using an electronic tuner (both a pedal and a clip-on tuner), as well as several ways to tune by ear.

Everything in this video is in standard tuning.

For reference, the notes on the guitar in standard tuning are as follows:
E – Lowest (fattest) string
A
D
G
B
E – Highest (thinnest) string
