Have you ever heard a really classical sounding lick in a rock guitar solo? Are you a fan of neoclassical artists like Yngwie Malmsteen and Vinnie Moore? Then there's a good chance that you've heard a pedal point lick!

A pedal point lick has a very classical sound about it, and works well both played slow and fast. In this video lesson I will show you how to play these licks, and give you some great examples that you can put into your own guitar solos.

This technique takes a lot of co-ordination, so start off slow and build up the speed.
